All credit checks will be carried out at the landlords expense in accordance with the rules of the Tribunal administratif du logement. Any offer to lease must be accompanied by proof of the tenant's liability insurance before taking possession of the unit. (Minimum civil liability coverage of $2,000,000) Airbnb-style rentals are strictly prohibited, as are any commercial activities, including daycare services, whether public or private. Subletting is not permitted. No tenant may occupy the premises unless they are listed on the lease. To add a tenant to the lease, a new credit check must be completed, a new lease must be signed, and the owner's approval is required. All such requests must be submitted in writing. Proof of employment and financial solvency is required prior to the acceptance of any rental offer.
